will not use again May 21, 2010 Elwyn 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Insertion was pretty easy. (I put it in my wife.) She was lying on her back, but even in that position, she could still feel some of it running out of her before the required 10 minutes had passed. During sex, it created a warm/hot sensation that wasn't painful, but was getting close. After sex, both of us had a burning and itching sensation that lasted 30 minutes to an hour. (That was even after showering right after to rinse it off.) My wife also said that she could feel the spermicide running out of her for an hour or two.
Does the job February 1, 2010 John (Sapporo, Japan) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product has worked as advertised for us for many years. I am a repeat purchaser.
Tried many-will stick with this!! it works!!! December 17, 2009 K. Ferriman (Westerville, Ohio USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Let me begin by saying it is VERY easy for me to get pregnant...I had 3 children in just under 4 years, and have tried many different forms of bc. The pill for me is highly undesireable because it sends me on a crazy roller coaster of hormones and emotions. I was on yaz for 9 solid months after my second and my hormone levels never leveled out, and had a few other undesireable consequenses as well. Not to mention the fact that I actually got pregnant with my third while on the pill. Well, after trying just about every otc birth control out there, including VCF - which takes longer to be effective - 15 minutes as opposed to 10, which is an eternity when you're in the mood - and has a more sticky feeling once dissolved - and condoms, which my husband detests - I stumbled across this. I have to say it was a God send. Not to get too personal, but it actually has a very nice feeling once dissolved, and adds to my own pleasure very nicely (easier to climax, since using). Not only that, but I am going on 2 years w/o pregnancy, which after 4 solid years of being pregnant, or breastfeeding, is fantastic!!! I LOVE IT...Yes, it is sometimes frustrating to have to wait the 10 minutes, and things can't be as spontaneous at they once were, but after 3 children, I can hold back a few extra minutes if that means that I won't be waking up every 2-4 hours every night to a screaming child. This has been a great option for me, and works like a charm. I would highly recommend trying this to anyone who is looking for an alternative to the pill.
great for breastfeeding September 15, 2009 Mom of all boys (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
wow. This is a great over the counter product. I currently am breastfeeding so I was looking for something that didn't have any hormonal effects and my husband and I both hate condoms. But when using it properly neither of us have had any side effects from it and no more babies either. We are not going to go back on the birth control pills being that these are much safer and MUCH more pleasurable (just use it when you need it).
Seemed to be the Godsend Contraceptive, but... August 20, 2009 B. A. Jones (Little Rock, AR, USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My wife and I were looking for a contraceptive that would satisfy both of us as she is incompatible with most bc pills and I don't like condoms. This seemed to be the ticket! Just place one of these inserts as close to the cervix as possible 10 minutes before sex and a new one for any additional hour of protection required. It does give my wife a warming sensation and doesn't bother her at all. Other guys have complained about the taste-- I really didn't have that much of problem--it certainly doesn't taste like candy, but it's not that bad. The big problem for me is that after sex, I had a serious burning sensation when I urinated-- I'd say a 3 or 4 out of 10. It lasted at this level for about 3 days then subsided to 2 or a 1 for a week. I guess I might be able to suffer occasionally, but we can't rely on this for our main contraceptive unfortunately and may have to look elsewhere. I see other reviews for the jelly--we may try that out.
